The Greatest Music Video Ever Made?
Roger Ebert calls this the greatest music video ever made. Maybe it isn’t that or maybe it is. It is an amazing coordination feat involving hundreds of people. If this is what Grand Rapids is about, then the city is not dead by any means.

World to End October 21, Camping Means it this Time
He was wrong in 1994, and he was wrong about May 21, but Harold Camping is certain that October 21 is the end of the world.
Camping said that a rapture actually happened on May 21, but it was “spiritual.” The real end of the world is happening October 21 with the “physical” rapture. Camping said this time that his church would not spread posters and flyers warning of the earth’s demise. He said we have been warned enough.
Unfortunately, many of Camping’s followers will continue to believe him. How many will after October 21 is anyone’s guess, but Camping better figure a new date of destruction because there is no need not to follow through with plans for Halloween.

Harold Camping: This is a Big Deal (No Rapture); I have to Think it Out
Yeh, you had better think it out Mr. Camping. After spending millions of dollars and getting your followers to flush their life savings down he toilet with your madness, there really is not much to say…or think about.

Milton Friedman on Legalizing Drugs from an Economist Point of View
A strong, reasoned argument from economist Milton Friedman on the legalization of drugs. He claims crack was developed because of the high cost of cocaine. If cocaine was not illegal, then crack would never have been created because cocaine would be cheaper.
Friedman admits that if drugs were legalized then there might be more addicts but that is balanced by the reduction of violence in the drug wars. Friedman claims that 10,000 people a year are killed in violence attributed to drugs. Plus, there are burglaries, robberies and other criminals less deadly that occur frequently. All these would drop. The only people hurt by drug use would be those who take the drugs, and that is their choice.
North Korea Expands its Political Prisoner Camps
If there is hell on earth, here it is. The North Korean regime is the most brutal, oppressive society on earth. It is straight out of Soviet-style, Stalin-era repression.
Amnesty International estimates that 200,000 political prisoners are being held, and that is probably a low estimate. People who get thrown into these camps rarely come out alive. If someone commits an egregious act, like saying something critical about Kim Jung-il, then they are dragged into these camps. Oftentimes, their family is dragged along as well.
The inmates are forced to work at slave labor conditions. These camps are required to be self-supporting. They are simply hell-holes.

Logic and Politics
Although simplistic, this video is right on. The American government is not so much a government by the people and for the people but by special interests for special interests.

Intelligent Design Devolved
A bit of a different perspective on the evolution and intelligent design controversy. Ah, controversy is an inappropriate word. There is no controversy for those who choose to accept the facts.
The video is a bit long at 9 minutes. If you watch it, the whole clip needs to be seen to grasp the author’s point which basically suggests that intelligent designers place their argument on evolution.
